Temporary suspension of acceptance of mail items destined to China |
March 12, 2020
As we have previously announced, considerable delivery delays are expected for mail items to China except for Hong Kong and Macao.
However, as transportation performance has declined drastically since March 9 due to immigration restrictions on visitors from China to Japan and restrictions on flights from/to that country, among other reasons, we are unable to make any prospect for dispatching mail items to China.
Therefore, acceptance of mail items destined to China will be temporarily suspended from March 13, except for some letter-post items such as letters, postcards and mail for the blind by air.
Temporarily suspended mail types |
EMS Parcels by air, SAL and surface Letter-post (small packets and printed matter) by air, SAL and surface Letter-post (letters, postcards and mail for the blind) by surface |
---|---|
Continuously accepted mail types | Letter-post (letters, postcards and mail for the blind) by air |
Although some letter-post items to China can be accepted, considerable delivery delays are expected for them.
In addition, items which have already been accepted and cannot be dispatched to China will be returned from the delivery office to the sender in order, except for some letter-post items.
