Services uncovered by compensation system
Please note that the compensation system does not cover the following services for any damages caused by an unexpected problem.
- Postal items (letters) that are not handled as registered mail or cash on delivery
- Postal items (postcards) that are not handled as registered mail
- Letter Pack
- Yu-Mail that is not handled as registered mail or cash on delivery
Please send any valuable or expensive items with registered mail (for Yu-Pack parcels, security service).
When sending valuables such as cash, jewels, etc.
Please always use ordinary registered mail or currency registration services (excluding simplified registration).
As a general rule, please use a currency envelope for sending cash.
Currency envelopes can be purchased at post offices.
- Because old coins and foreign currencies do not fall under the category of cash, they do not need to be sent as currency registration.

There is a compensation system for items fulfilling certain requirements stipulated in the Postal Act and Yu-Pack General Conditions. For further information, please contact the post office near you. |
International Mail
Compensation system with a certain limit is available for the following services in the event of loss, stealing or damage.
- Postal items handled as registered mail
- Ordinary parcel postal item
- Insured postal items
- EMS (Express Mail Service)

Cases where the items may not be covered by the compensation system
Please note that we may not be able to compensate the following cases.
- When there is no trace of damage on the outside of the postal item, and there is no change in weight
- When there is a trace of damage on the outside of the postal item at the time of dispatch
- When the damages are caused by the following reasons:
- Negligence of the sender or the addressee

- Negligence of the sender or the addressee
