The types of postal services requiring EAD transmission have been expanded effective March 1, 2024.

Several cases have occurred where Germany returned letters and printed matter containing articles having a declarable value such as books and calendars because of missing electronic advance data (EAD).
We strongly recommend that postal items that have monetary value be sent alongside EAD via the International Mail My Page Service, even though, in theory, they could be sent as Letters or as Printed Matter.
Please note that the acceptance of some or all kinds of mail items to Germany may be temporarily suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic or other international circumstances. Please check the "International mail service availability chart" before sending mail.
