Precautions when packaging

Does insured mail require special packaging?

Make up insured items so that the contents cannot be tampered with without obvious damage to the outer packaging (envelopes, boxes or other containers).

Packaging requirements for insured mail

Envelopes Do not use weak self-adhesive envelopes, transparent envelopes, or envelopes with windows.
Boxes
  • Boxes must be made of wood, metal, plastic or some other sturdy material and have sufficient strength.
  • The walls of wooden boxes must have a minimum thickness of 8mm.
  • The top and bottom sides of the box must be covered with white paper to take the address of addressee, the declaration of the insured value and the impression of the official stamps.

Attachment of stickers/labels, etc.

  • You are not allowed to affix stickers/labels other than those related to postal services (such as "air mail" stickers).
  • Postage stamps for payment of postage or other labels related to the postal service must be affixed with appropriate spacing. In addition, please note that stamps or labels must not be affixed across two surfaces of the package.

Sealing

  • When using adhesive tape, please use high-quality adhesive tape with a strong adhesiveness, and affix a special uniform design or mark of the sender so that it extends across the surface of the package and the tape.
  • Boxes must be sealed on the four sides (front, back, left and right) as shown below.
